BACKGROUND
The Centres for Excellence in Dispute Resolution was created in 2005 by Charles Parselle and Robert M. Tessier. At that time both Mr. Parselle and Mr. Tessier were practicing attorneys in Southern California with a combined experience of over 50 years. Mr. Parselle is also a barrister, having been called to the English bar in 1966.
With experience in the heat of battle as civil litigants, both Charles and Bob became convinced that the field of alternative dispute resolution is not only critically necessary, but also is the more civilized future of conflict resolution in the United States and internationally. Therefore, CEDRS was created to assist parties to disputes prevent the war and make the peace.
The Centres for Excellence pioneers the notion of flexibility, affordability, and experience in mediation, education, and consulting in the art of alternative dispute resolution. With numerous offices and affiliated facilities spanning the globe, the Centres for Excellence provides parties opportunity to convene mediations conveniently. Moreover, by utilizing the revolutionary technology of CEDRS, mediations may be convened between parties anywhere in the world.
In a world of e-commerce and supply chains which link businesses worldwide, this method of convening mediation will be the preferred mode of the 21st century.
The Centres for Excellence has at its heart the passion for education. The principals offer courses in mediation geared to not only mediators, but also the business and insurance industry. These courses teach techniques to be experts at dispute resolution. But more importantly, these courses stress the philosophy of peacemaking which has at its core the fundamental shift in how the business world is and will be viewed going forward.
"Is there any man who does not know that the seed of war in the modern world is industrial and commercial rivalry?" Woodrow Wilson - St. Louis, Missouri - Sept. 15, 1919
